Welcome to DelVal! The Technology Services Department would like to welcome you to Delaware Valley University. Starting at a new college whether as a new freshman or as a transfer or as a graduate student can be overwhelming, hopefully, the information here will help to reduce issue at the start of your college life here at DelVal. If you have registered for courses at DelVal you will or have already received your user name and password.

We strongly encourage you to change your password after you log into Office 365 (https://portal.office.com) for the first time and create your account recovery questions. Password information can be found in the menu or by clicking here.

  • Passwords should never be shared as they allow access to all facets of your personal, financial, and academic life at DelVal. Sharing your password runs the risk of someone making unauthorized changes to your accounts or schedules and everything accessible using your login credentials.

Office 365 is the email and application platform used at DelVal. Office 365 has multiple applications that you are either already familiar with or might find very useful. Some of the applications include Outlook, Words, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote.

You can access the Office 365 tools by going tohttps://portal.office.com or by downloading the appropriate apps on your mobile devices.

The first time you access any of the applications you will need to set up your account for password recovery purposes. You can always reset your password via this web interface if you are not on campus.

You can even download Microsoft Office Suite to your personalcomputer via your Office 365 account. Once you sign into Office 365 and on the welcome page you should see an option to "Install Office".

The University provides all Students with a University email/network credentials (user name/password). These credentials give you access to all computers across campus. It also provides access to the University'smyDelVal portal, WebAdvisor, Blackboard, email, the 1896 WiFi, and any network drives that you have permission to use. Your network login must be used when you are using a University computer. Please check your DelVal email account regularly. Faculty and staff will be sending important information to this email account throughout the school year. Your email account is available on and off campus by clicking on Students, then Office 365 - Direct access to email option on the Universitywebsite.

Please do not share or post your credentials where others may see them.

You can check your DelVal email on your mobile devices (cellphones, tablets, iPads, etc.). You can use the email app that comes with your device or the Outlook app (available in the Apple and Google Play store). You will need to use your email address and your DelVal log-in password.

The myDelValcampus portal (http://my.delval.edu) is the main source of information for students, complete with important announcements and community information, campus events, items for sale, forms and other resources. This information site also provides single sign-on access to WebAdvisor and Blackboard. To access myDelVal from on or off campus, go tohttp://www.delval.eduthen click on the "For Current Students" link (located at the bottom of the DelValhomepage). A new page will appear. Choose "DelVal App Hub", it will prompt you to log in with your user name (NOT your email address) and password. Once signed in you should see a tile titled "myDelVal". You can also use thefollowing link:http://my.delval.edu

Blackboard (http://delval.blackboard.com) is the University's platform for the delivery of course materials via the web. Some instructors supplement an on-campus class by putting their syllabus and other handouts on Blackboard. Other courses may be conducted entirely through Blackboard, without any on-campus sessions. If you are enrolled in a course that uses Blackboard, be sure to find out how it will be used in that course.Please note: Courses will not display in Blackboard until the first day of class.

Self-Service includes several functions for students. Such as: enables you to register, view your academic progress, grades, and plan out your future courses at DelVal. To access Self-Service log into myDelValand locate the "I Want To..." section in the middle of the page; click on the "Go to Student Planning to view registration, schedule and academic information" or click on Self-Service under the Campus Applications section of the student home page in myDelVal.

Self-Service is now also accessible directly from the DelVal App Hub.

While you are not required to bring your personal computer to DelVal, we do recommend it. There are more than 150 computers available on campus for studentuse, all connected to the Universitynetwork, including:

Computer labs in Feldman 101, Feldman 103, and Allman 204 which are open for general use Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 9:30 PM (when classes are not scheduled in these rooms).Schedules are posted near the door of each room.

CommuterLounge (in the Student Center) and Miller Hall are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Krauskopf Library contains about 40 computers, laptops, and a dedicated Mac lab. (Check the Library sit for hours of operation athttp://library.delval.edu/library).
