With a rich history spanning over three decades, Polaris® Brand Insulated Taps has established itself as a pioneer in the industry, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation. Proudly made in the USA, their products have become synonymous with exceptional quality and reliability.

Insulated taps stand as fundamental tools used daily by electricians and manufacturers across various job sites and factories to connect electrical wires and cables efficiently. These modern connectors have revolutionized the process, offering both cost and labor savings compared to traditional methods like split-bolt connectors and electrical tape. Known by various names such as insulated power connectors, insulated wire connectors, insulated multi-tap connectors, or pre-insulated splices and taps, these devices simplify and expedite wire joining tasks. Classified into different types based on their configurations, insulated taps fall into four primary categories: Single Side Entry, Double Side Entry, Offset Entry, and In-Line Entry. Single Side Entry taps feature wire ports on a single side, while Dual Side Entry taps offer ports on both sides of the connector. Offset Entry taps have staggered wire ports located on opposing sides, while In-Line Entry taps possess wire ports arranged in a straight line. These connectors are typically designed to be compatible with both aluminum and copper wires, allowing for versatile usage. These taps are usually Dual Rated for use with Aluminum and Copper wire and are usually designed to handle wire sizes from #14 AWG to 750MCM. Multi-tap connectors are usually made from high grade aluminum (mostly 6061-T6 aluminum). Insulated wire connectors are then sealed with a high-dielectric plastisol coating and come pre-filled with oxide inhibitor, a critical element that prevents oxidation, maintaining optimal electrical conductivity and enhancing the longevity of connections. The market offers a range of colors for insulated wire connectors, although the most prevalent options remain clear and black. However, other colors are also available, catering to specific preferences or identification needs within electrical setups. Several reputable brands dominate the market, providing high-quality insulated multi-tap connectors, Polaris® is one of these brands.
