The West Windsor-Plainsboro School District is very competitive and high-ranked. There is a lot of pressure on academics from peers and the environment, and there are a lot of hard teachers. Within my experience, (and I'm sure this is the same for all districts too) some teachers in specific classes are too hard and dreaded within my group, while some are laid back and fun. There are a lot of clubs to choose from (the last time I checked, there were around 85 clubs in the club catalog). Furthermore, the best parts of my experiences are sourced from the kind nature of the school. There are multiple services for when someone gets hurt, both physically and mentally, and so far, their guidance program has been great and has given me so much knowledge so far. The worst part of my experiences, however, is how much stress my friends and I have experienced on tough schoolwork. Despite that, this school is amazing, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I think there is a lot of pressure for academics at my school. It feels like a constant storm around all of our heads. Half of the conversations I have with my friends are about a class we're in, a test we're about to have, or how we're "failing," when, in reality, we usually have a B in the class we're referring to. I constricts us, in a way. There isn't as a much of a school culture. There is a sense of unity, yes, but it's almost entirely built on academics and our large Asian population. Our biggest rival school is simply the other high school in our district. Even the layout of the school feels like it's like a prison - we have courtyards, even, enclosed with large walls. But I love the people here, and I truly feel like I'm part of the district. The large number of Asian, particularly South Asian students has created a sense of community.

My overall experience at High School North has been pretty good, there are no problems with the school that I have run into minus some iffy teachers. The sports teams are well funded and facilities are up to date. Staff is very hands on with students and helps ensure their success.
